[spotlight story] In For A Pound

Title: In For A Pound
Author: [livejournal.com profile] deelaundry
Crossover Fandom: Stargate: Atlantis
Pairing: House/Wilson, McKay/Sheppard, House/Wilson/McKay/Sheppard
Rating: NC-17
Length: 20 500 words
Spoilers: Through "Whatever It Takes" for House; through "Quarantine" for Stargate: Atlantis.
Summary: Two days, four men, one California King mattress. Sometimes two and two can add up to something more.
Excerpt:

When House started to wake, he drifted for several long seconds trying to piece together where he was. The mattress was harder than expected, the sheets smelled funny, and there was something odd about Wilson's breathing. Da-di-dum-dum: House was mentally humming along with the new rhythm, and then it hit him.

He could hear more than one person.

Wilson was Wilson, same as always. But there was also a huffing almost-snore, and an intermittent low mumbling rumble. He listened to the harmony of breathing for a few seconds. It was easy and comfortable, somehow, like a song from childhood, and he could have dozed off to the sound.

Except for the fact that he usually didn't sleep with more than one person.

House turned his head and opened his eyes. Oh. The other two people -- other two men -- were in another bed. In the dim light he could see them huddled on the edge of the bed facing him. Military Model -- um, John Sheppard -- was tucked tightly around The Yakker -- Rodney McKay. A vast expanse of sheet stretched behind Sheppard's back, unused.

House smirked and nudged at Wilson's right hip, which was pressed up against House's left. Wilson wiggled and then sprawled more, nudging his leg even further over House's. Someone watching might've found the gesture endearing or romantic. House knew it was war. Every night he and Wilson waged an intense, unconscious skirmish for bed space. A California King mattress had been their first joint purchase as a couple, and still the battle raged.

If you have a great love for both House, M.D. and Stargate: Atlantis, then you'll love a crossover between them that brings both fandoms' favourite characters together. In For A Pound is [livejournal.com profile] deelaundry's extension of a 'verse started with the story Out Of The Blue, and it involves House, Wilson, McKay, and Sheppard meeting up and deciding to spend the weekend together engaged in every indecent and salubrious activity they can fit on a list. [livejournal.com profile] deelaundry's dialogue is well done, and the interactions between House and Sheppard are amusing. The moment when House and McKay play the piano together is particularly endearing. In For A Pound is a fun romp of a story, wherein each character and each pairing is given its own moment and individual dynamic. [livejournal.com profile] deelaundry takes great delight in offering up every possible fantasy for the reader's delectation, and the result is explosive.

House and Sheppard's expressions fit so well. And Rodney's smile is gorgeous.

The sexiest G-rated art I've ever seen. That rumpled bed, looking only recently abandoned... mmm.
