Title: Past Lives and Non Regrets
Author: [livejournal.com profile] crescent_gaia
Crossover Fandom: Leverage
Pairing: Cameron/Eliot, House/Wilson, Chase/Foreman
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences, Mature
Length: 20 787 words
Spoilers: For House, it is for all past seasons, along with the first half of season six. For Leverage, I'm going to say just season one to be careful.
Summary: As a patient is put under House's care, Cameron's past life crashes into her present to making a choice about going back to the past or living in the present.
Excerpt:
Allison couldn't believe she was doing this. It was the end of the semester and she had just finished all of her finals for the fall semester of her final year of undergraduate work. On top of that stress, she had to figure out a way to break into a secure room in a bank in order to steal money to pay off her loans. If it wasn't for the fact that I borrowed from the mob, I wouldn't be doing this she thought as she mentally cursed herself. She sighed softly as she waited for the reader to go through the codes to open the vault, looking around as she felt the hair on the back of her neck rise. She saw a guard turn a corner and whimpered "Shit."

"Hey!" The guard said but it was the last word he could before Eliot hit him hard in the back of the head. He moved over to her, looking around. "Last one of the guards. How much longer?"

"Another second or two," she whispered to him and kissed his cheek. "Thank you."

"The sooner we get out of here, the better it'll be," he said quietly as he looked at her oddly. "So does this mean we're not broken up?"

"No, we're still broken up on the account of you being an ass," she replied in a whisper.

Title: The One Where It Leads To Something More
Author: [livejournal.com profile] alanwolfmoon
Pairing: House/Chase
Rating: Teen And Up
Length: 20 500 words
Spoilers: Late season 4. Vaguely AU in that Cameron has left Chase.
Summary: House finds out about Chase's method for dealing with Cameron leaving, and takes part in that method. It leads to something more.
Excerpt:
Wilson gently smoothed a piece of skin tape over the end of the gauze, and looked at his friend, "are you sure you're alright?"

"I got tied up for half an hour and my wrists are scraped. I'm getting free food out of the deal. What do you think?"

Wilson chuckled, putting the first aid kit away, "well, okay. I'll see you tomorrow."

House nodded, "‘kay."

Wilson got up, and walked out.

House watched him go, shook his head, and turned back to his computer, absently rubbing his fingers over the edge of the gauze as he watched a DVD of General Hospital.

OMG, those are awesome! I love the first one especially. It looks like video game art or those neat vintage book covers for classic spec fic. Well done you!

The simplicity of the second one is nice too, but the first one makes me envious that you don't make covers for my fic! Maybe I should write something next time.

Thank you! :D And yeah, maybe once I do get out of the semester from hell, I'll have time to make covers for your fic just for fun!

These look great! I envy your design-y skills, I couldn't do that if you paid me. Both of these grab my attention and make me want to check out the fics they're made for.

Thanks! I'm really glad they make you want to check out the fics they're for. That's what all cover art seeks to do. :)

When I saw the Past Lives cover, I totally thought of those Penguin classic SF books that have had their covers reimagined--or the new Hitchcock movie covers, too. That simplicity that narrows down the essence of the story to one or two elements, very stark and powerful.

The second one--great use of caps! Love Chase's expression, there's a sort of soft determination to it, and, hee, I like that he's on top. WHERE HE SHOULD BE. That font's perfect for the title, too; kind of...storytelling and casual, I guess? Those are the words that leap to mind. But it's the sort of font I'd associate with "And then..." stories, told with much excitement.

Yay, another great year!

I think I've told you this before, but what I've always liked about your pieces is how they feel like real book covers. The first one reminds me of this newer cover to Catch-22 in its simplicity-- as [livejournal.com profile] queenzulu put it, the fic's essential elements. And I like the drawings; makes me wonder what's going on in the fic! ;)

With the second cover, I like the sombriety, the contemplativeness-- how Chase looks both thoughtful/sad, and as if he were eyeing House below. I like the line dividing House and Chase since they *do* have to overcome an emotional separation in the fic. And such an apt image for House, in any and all of his relationships.
