1. Title: A Distorted Genius - FIRST ARTIST: [livejournal.com profile] queenzulu; SECOND ARTIST: [livejournal.com profile] ohpointybird
Crossover Fandom: Nero Wolfe
Pairing: Gen: House, Wilson.
Rating: PG
Length: 28 500 words
Spoilers: Through "Family" for House; through A Family Affair for Wolfe.
Summary: He's a genius, eccentric, lazy, and has three staff to do all the work. And House is just the same. Wilson's been arrested on suspicion of murder, and only Nero Wolfe can help.
Excerpt:

Dr. Wilson wasn't difficult to spot; the cell was empty apart from him and a couple of drunks sleeping down the far end. He was sitting on the floor, leaning against the wall, hands resting on his knees, looking despondent. Although disheveled and grubby after a night in jail, he was wearing what had previously been a stylish suit jacket and pants, with a white dress shirt, and I would have bet money that the police had confiscated an expensive silk tie along with the shoelaces from his black patent leather shoes. I recalled that he had been a guest at the engagement party and had presumably been dressed for that. However I also thought it likely that he habitually dressed like this. This was good; if he ever had to take the stand in court, he would clean up nicely.

He looked up as I approached, then stood up.

"Dr Wilson? I'm Archie Goodwin." I proffered a hand through the bars, and he reached out and shook without hesitation. "I work for Nero Wolfe."

"Pleased to meet you," he said politely. "Parker said House went to see Nero Wolfe?"

"That's right. Wolfe hasn't decided whether to take your case, but he has agreed to see you, once you're out," I explained. "We're working on getting you out right now."

I stopped, because Wilson was looking over my shoulder. I looked round, and Dr. House was striding into the room. How he had conned his way past the desk sergeant I had no idea; but there he was. House paused next to me, leaning on his cane, looking at Wilson. I looked back and forth between them. The two of them stared at each other through the bars, a few feet apart. They didn't touch, nor did they need to. I wasn't there, the guard in the corner wasn't there, those bars weren't there. Hell, the whole world didn't exist any more.

"Wilson, you look like crap," House eventually rasped.

"Good to see you too, House," Wilson said, deadpan. "Funny to have you bailing me out for once."

2. Title: A Joy Forever - FIRST ARTIST: [livejournal.com profile] brynnamorgan; SECOND ARTIST: [livejournal.com profile] shutterbug_12
Pairing: House/Wilson
Rating: NC-17
Length: 20 300
Spoilers: Through "Sleeping Dogs Lie".
Summary: Wilson's dead, but that doesn't mean he's gone.
Excerpt:

"I wish you hadn't died," House said. He thought of how boring the hospital seemed without Wilson there to provide annoyances, entertainment, and support. Something caught in his throat, and so he looked away. Once it was safe to speak again, he said, "Everyone's been bossing me-- more than usual-- ever since. It's irritating."

They sat on a wooden porch, facing a group of birch trees bursting with deep-green summer leaves; the sun was warm on House's skin. He and Wilson were each in their own wood and straw chairs, which, whenever they moved, moaned against the worn veranda panels. House was vaguely aware of the girl with strawberry-blonde haired girl off to the side, creaking on a rocking chair, but she didn't matter, so he ignored her.

"Sorry my death inconveniences you," Wilson offered, without sounding sorry at all. "I didn't mean to get knocked off, if that helps." He drank from a glass of juice and House could see the moisture glistening on his lip; smell the orange on his breath. Absently, House wondered how his dreams could hold so much more sensory detail than his waking life.

House grunted. "Whatever." He grabbed the orange juice, more to claim a vengeance from Wilson than to cure his thirst, and drank all of it.

3. Title: Break Point - FIRST ARTIST: [livejournal.com profile] virvavirva; SECOND ARTIST: [livejournal.com profile] tli
Pairing: Gen: House, Wilson.
Rating: R
Length: 24 000 words
Spoilers: Takes place between "Human Error" and "Alone".
Summary: Wilson struggles to reconcile past and present in the aftermath of the Tritter investigation, while House just wants to understand.
Excerpt:

"Why are you on antidepressants if it's all in the past?" House demanded.

"You don't think I have reason to be depressed?" Some days Wilson had trouble thinking of a reason not to be depressed. "I'm on my third divorce, I tell people they're going to die every day, and my best friend is in chronic pain and the only thing I can do is give him drugs that will eventually kill him."

"This isn't about me," House retorted, but he looked away.

"Of course it's about you, it's always about you. The antidepressants are interesting, but not interesting enough for you to waste a bottle of good rum. Why don't you just ask me what you really want to know?"

House stood up, pushing his chair back abruptly. "I want to know about your brother. He's the one variable I can't predict. He's the particle or wave that you can't see, but you know is there because of how it affects everything around it."

Wilson watched him cross the room, his gait made awkward by agitation. "I don't understand," he admitted. It seemed to be his default position with House lately.

"I need to understand the effect. I need to know how he acted on you. If I know what he did, then I'll know what I did to make you give up on me."

4. Title: Dark Water - FIRST ARTIST: [livejournal.com profile] leiascully; SECOND ARTIST: [livejournal.com profile] shizuka_blooms
Pairing: House/Wilson, House/Wilson/Cuddy, Cuddy/Wilson
Rating: NC-17
Length: 20 000 words
Spoilers: None
Summary: Wilson has to do a freebie because of a mix up with a race horse. House is just getting back into the game and Cuddy finds both these ghosts from the past showing up at the same time. Things get complicated with two FBI agents are thrown into the mix and Chase finally gets a solo hit.
Excerpt:

"We aren't leaving." Wilson tries his best steely glare and knows that it's failed utterly when House grins and pops a purple sucker in his mouth.

"We can pretend to be a couple. I'll wear loud Hawaiian shirts. You can have the straw tote bag and lisp."

"I am not carrying a straw tote bag."

"So when do we leave?"

"The point is to be inconspicuous. We can't do that if we're together."

House looks at him with big mournful eyes, "Are you still trying to deny our epic romance?"

"House we are not going as a couple and I am not wandering around lisping at people."

"You suck at this."

"We can have the same hotel if you're that desperate for me."

"Did I say that?"

5. Title: Half Life - FIRST ARTIST: [livejournal.com profile] stephantom; SECOND ARTIST: [livejournal.com profile] brynnamorgan
Pairing: House/Wilson, House/OFC
Rating: R
Length: 28 500 words
Spoilers: Through season three; AU for season four.
Summary: The world changes forever. House and Wilson must cope.
Excerpt:

Wilson is certainly no wolf expert--this is only the second one he's actually seen in person and the first was just this morning--but it looks...normal to him. Certainly, it doesn't appear to be in any distress. The fur is a mottled brownish, grayish color, darker on the back and fading to a dirty white on the belly and around the muzzle. The wolf's coat looks slightly scruffy, like it had started shedding and then stopped. Wilson counts the animal's respirations as the chest rises and falls because he's not sure what else to do. He's just started getting closer for a better look at the right leg, which looks a little odd, when the wolf suddenly lifts its head.

Wilson freezes. The wolf yawns hugely, revealing a terrifying collection of yellowing teeth, smacks its lips sleepily, and looks right at him.

Wilson can only mutter, "Oh, shit," because he can’t deny that the blue eyes staring back at him are House's.

6. Title: how to skin your knees standing straight - FIRST ARTIST: [livejournal.com profile] elizabethswan_; SECOND ARTIST: [livejournal.com profile] pandorashollow; THIRD ARTIST: [livejournal.com profile] alterangirl
Pairing: House/Cameron, Chase/Cameron
Rating: R
Length: 20 000 words
Spoilers: Through "Human Error".
Summary: That summer, Cameron tries to keep her choices straight. Why should she stay?
Excerpt:

It occurs to her that she's never really asked, really asked him if he's ready for this, if he can be patient for her. It seems selfish and more indulgent than anything else. She doesn't like how it makes her feel. She doesn't like how any of this feels. He makes her feel out of place and as unintentional as it is, she’s only prone to react the way she knows. It's an excuse, but it’s what she has.

The whole idea of what she did, of what she drove to do, is losing the strength of intention that she had. She could go on and on about how it was supposed to be something good, something new, and a real chance for herself. It was. It still is. It's kind of lackluster now and she feels, really, out of her element.

But she doesn’t know where to find it.

"You don't want to go."

She's startled. She thinks she’s missed something, lost a part of the conversation. She blinks, looks around, and hears the sigh on the other line.

Her mouth thins. "I don’t know."

This time she really takes the pause. She listens to him, imagines him, and can practically taste the disappointment. She doesn’t know how to do this yet, she wants to say to him and it’s unfair to really place the idea of a relationship on her too soon. But that’s stupid and selfish and she did say, she did say that she wanted to try. She’s willing to try.

Chase deserves more than just a little honesty.

"It’s hitting, you know?" She takes a deep breath, "I mean--I actually did this."

7. Title: In For A Pound - FIRST ARTIST: [livejournal.com profile] yevgenie; SECOND ARTIST: [livejournal.com profile] thedeadparrot
Crossover Fandom: Stargate: Atlantis
Pairing: House/Wilson, McKay/Sheppard, House/Wilson/McKay/Sheppard
Rating: NC-17
Length: 20 500 words
Spoilers: Through "Whatever It Takes" for House; through "Quarantine" for Stargate: Atlantis.
Summary: Two days, four men, one California King mattress. Sometimes two and two can add up to something more.
Excerpt:

When House started to wake, he drifted for several long seconds trying to piece together where he was. The mattress was harder than expected, the sheets smelled funny, and there was something odd about Wilson's breathing. Da-di-dum-dum: House was mentally humming along with the new rhythm, and then it hit him.

He could hear more than one person.

Wilson was Wilson, same as always. But there was also a huffing almost-snore, and an intermittent low mumbling rumble. He listened to the harmony of breathing for a few seconds. It was easy and comfortable, somehow, like a song from childhood, and he could have dozed off to the sound.

Except for the fact that he usually didn't sleep with more than one person.

House turned his head and opened his eyes. Oh. The other two people -- other two men -- were in another bed. In the dim light he could see them huddled on the edge of the bed facing him. Military Model -- um, John Sheppard -- was tucked tightly around The Yakker -- Rodney McKay. A vast expanse of sheet stretched behind Sheppard's back, unused.

House smirked and nudged at Wilson's right hip, which was pressed up against House's left. Wilson wiggled and then sprawled more, nudging his leg even further over House's. Someone watching might've found the gesture endearing or romantic. House knew it was war. Every night he and Wilson waged an intense, unconscious skirmish for bed space. A California King mattress had been their first joint purchase as a couple, and still the battle raged.

8. Title: My Brother's Keeper - FIRST ARTIST: [livejournal.com profile] wihluta; SECOND ARTIST: [livejournal.com profile] virvavirva
Pairing: Gen: House, Cuddy, Wilson.
Rating: R
Length: 24 814 words.
Spoilers: None.
Summary: An on-the-job incident forces House to experience his life beyond the visible spectrum; Cuddy and Wilson struggle to guide him through a darkness that neither of them can see and preserve the world that House remembers.
Excerpt:

Cuddy shouted at a wide-eyed nurse. "I need a bottle of Alcaine and four--" Her order broke off with a hiss as House stumbled and forced her to brace herself against the wall. "--four liters of saline in exam room one, and page Dr. Wilson. Tell him it’s an emergency."

With the strength worthy of a linebacker, she muscled House towards the door and threw it open. Inside, a patient sat on the exam table waiting to be seen.

"Out!" she demanded, maneuvering House to the counter to bend him over the sink.

The patient stared dumbly at her.

"Now!"

Cuddy ignored the patient’s disgruntled murmurs as he scuttled from the room and, with near-superhuman speed, stripped House of his stinking, saturated jacket, turned on the tap, and pulled on a pair of gloves. As she guided his face towards the water, she drew measured breaths, mentally reviewing procedure, the medical mechanics.

"Okay, House," she said, adopting a tone of cool professionalism to cover the panic racing up her throat, flooding her mouth. She forced a swallow. "I need you to open your eyes as wide as possible."

A pained grunt slipped between his lips as his eyelids blinked open. The first vibrant, fury-red flash of sclera shocked her. The blue clarity of his irises, however, pulled a tiny sigh of relief from her mouth as she laid a hand on the back of his head to urge him into the water.

House flinched at the water's contact and shut his eyes. "Fuck. It hurts."

A pang of sympathy rippled through her. "I know, but you have to keep them open."

"I can’t. It hurts."

"Then hold them open. We need to flush your eyes and restore the proper pH balance to prevent any permanent--"

"Let’s pour industrial chemicals into your eyes and see if you can keep them open! We'll have a staring contest!"

9. Title: Strings - FIRST ARTIST: [livejournal.com profile] tli; SECOND ARTIST: [livejournal.com profile] leiascully
Pairing: House/Foreman
Rating: NC-17
Length: 40 000
Spoilers: Through "Euphoria".
Summary: Because after Foreman fucks up, he might actually be teachable. Because House is the best one to knock him down and then show him what a moron he is. "Because he could be better," he says, and he hates that it's the truth, that he's telling it to Cuddy like it matters.
Excerpt:

Foreman raises an eyebrow and smiles infuriatingly. "I don't actually care if you're there, House."

House notches up the glare, but it might just be an exercise in futility by this point. "If you didn't care, you wouldn't be telling me about it," he says. "Which means that you do care, which means that it matters that I go."

Foreman doesn't bother replying to that. He opens the envelope, takes out one of the tickets, and drops it on House's desk. "The concert exists. The means of getting into the concert--these tickets--also exist, and you have yours and I have mine. They happen to be incredible seats," he says. "They happen to be next to each other. Beyond that, House--" He pauses, and his grin slides into a laugh. "I don't care. I've done what I can. I'm going to go and enjoy the music. Either you'll be there or you won't, but be aware that if you try to ruin my experience in any way--by talking, by kicking the seat ahead of us, by tripping anybody--especially me--with your cane, by critiquing the improvisation while it's happening, then I will grab your leg and squeeze." He raises an eyebrow, waiting for a response. House fights down a smile, but probably Foreman can tell, because he nods, satisfied. "If that's clear, then we should be okay."

Without another word, he turns and swaggers out of the office.

"Nice," House says, drawing the word out and watching Foreman go. This is why no one should be forced to wear a labcoat; it seriously obstructs his view.

"I sincerely hope you're referring to his ass, and not the way he just manipulated you," Wilson says, with a certain amount of resignation.

House shrugs comfortably. "No reason it can't be both."

10. Title: The Open Road - FIRST ARTIST: [livejournal.com profile] thedeadparrot; SECOND ARTIST: [livejournal.com profile] eryslash; THIRD ARTIST: [livejournal.com profile] aragon_san
Pairing: House/Wilson
Rating: NC-17
Length: 25 000 words
Spoilers: Through season three.
Summary: Wilson goes along for the ride.
Excerpt:

"Fever and chills, vomiting and diarrhea, jaundice."

"Oh, come on? Are you kidding me? Malaria? Don't play, if you're not even going to try." House spits a cherry pit over the side of the car and pops another cherry into his mouth.

"I was throwing you a changeup," Wilson lies. The truth is they've been playing Name That Parasite for over an hour, and Wilson has already run through all his good ones without stumping House once. His Parasitology is downright rusty. "You didn't say which kind."

"Plasmodium falciparum. Duh." Wilson looks over to see another pit go shooting out of House's mouth toward the grain silo they're driving past. The cherry juice has stained House's lips unnaturally red, and he's pursing them in the pout that tells Wilson he isn't being entertaining enough. Wilson has to fight the urge to pull the car over and prove just how entertaining he can be. Discussion of rare parasites would surely lose some of its appeal once he has House's dick in his mouth. Then again, in an open convertible in broad daylight medical guessing games are somewhat less likely to get them arrested. Wilson shakes off the fantasy and looks back at the road.

"We could try having a normal conversation, you know. Like you could tell me where we're going and what this is all about." A glance out of the corner of his eye shows House wrinkling his nose.

"You know, if I'd wanted so much whining I could have brought Chase."

Wilson is about to make a wisecrack back, but he sees House's face transforming with a sudden unholy glee and follows his gaze to a billboard that's just come into view. Bright red letters announce "Jackson County Fair" above a large orange and yellow sun rising over a cartoonish green field.

Wilson can practically smell the manure already.

"Oh, no," he tells House. "Forget it. Put it right out of your mind. No way."

11. Title: The Roots of Rhythm Remain - FIRST ARTIST: [livejournal.com profile] hjsnapepm; SECOND ARTIST: [livejournal.com profile] mem_vermelha
Pairing: House/Wilson/Cuddy
Rating: NC-17
Length: 20 000 words
Spoilers: Through "Finding Judas".
Summary: Greg, Lisa, James, and Evan, and how their story goes on.
Excerpt:

When the rabbi finally exhorts them to kiss the bride, they realize that, though they've fought out everything else, they've completely forgotten this moment. As if they've planned it, both Greg and James head for Lisa, who catches them on either cheek. The portion of the audience that doesn't secretly think they're all going to hell thinks it's all perfectly heartwarming.

When they're introduced, Lisa throws back her head and laughs, as if they've pulled one over on the universe.

12. Title: Time Marches On - FIRST ARTIST: [livejournal.com profile] isaytoodlepip; SECOND ARTIST: [livejournal.com profile] elizabethswan_; THIRD ARTIST: [livejournal.com profile] cosmo_mouse
Pairing: Gen: Team.
Rating: G
Length: 23 260
Spoilers: Through "Don't Ever Change".
Summary: House once called change one of the greatest tragedies in life. His teams--the old one and the newbies--are learning this even as House himself continues to deal with things he can change, and things he cannot.
Excerpt:

House turned to look back at her, his head slightly cocked to one side. Cameron tried to hold back her smile. She'd missed this moment--that split second when she'd see that she'd gotten his attention, when she could sense his mind coming alive to every possibility, see the light in his eyes change from some faint reflection dimmed by drugs and pain to become something brighter, something that flickered and became stronger with each new clue, something that she'd only sense for a half of a breath before he'd turn away and hide it again.

She held out the file.

He took it, then sat. He slouched back in his chair and swung his left leg onto the corner of the desk, then lifted the right on top of it, crossed at the ankles. He opened the file.

Cameron looked at his feet. "You're wearing boots," she said.

House nodded. "Yes."

"You never wear boots."

He looked at her over the top of the file, then at his own feet. "Apparently, I do." He flipped over a page in the file, kept reading.

Cameron shook her head. "You always wear sneakers," she said.

"Apparently I don't," House said, "and he's only had garden variety antibiotics." He closed the file, held it in the air between them, not extending it toward her, but not ready to keep it for himself yet. "And your blood tests are useless. The really cool stuff always hides from blood work." He shook the file at her. "He just needs something targeted to the infection."

Cameron ignored the file, and crossed her arms over her chest. "Sure," she said, "but then first someone would have to find what kind of really cool infection it is in the first place."

"And I suppose you want me to do your dirty work." House lowered the file slightly.

13. Title: Your Hand In Mine - FIRST ARTIST: [livejournal.com profile] cryptictac; SECOND ARTIST: [livejournal.com profile] isaytoodlepip; THIRD ARTIST: [livejournal.com profile] shutterbug_12
Pairing: House/Cuddy
Rating: PG
Length: 30 000 words
Spoilers: Through season three.
Summary: They can say anything to each other, now that there’s no tomorrow.
Excerpt:

There was silence among the clinic nursing staff early in the morning two days ago when one of the patients switched the station from MTV to CNN. The newscaster with dark brown hair and a tiny nose was reporting a plane crash about three hundred miles off the coast of Ireland.

"Flight 311," he was saying, and then a child wailed loudly. "Mechanical failure" slipped through the noise and then Cuddy's new secretary, Jill or Jane or Josie, dropped the stack of files she was supposed to hand to Brenda. "left Zurich this morning...fatalities unknown."

The secretary was pale and Brenda told the patient with the remote to turn up the volume.

"I booked that flight," whispered Jenny or Julia or Joanne, and by then all the nurses were staring. Brenda grabbed the secretary's elbow and quickly put her in a chair.

Wilson was walking through the lobby, eyes on a file. He was mid-sentence when he looked up, noticed the collective gaze to the screen. "What--?" he started as the newscaster was saying again, "from Zurich" and "help is already on the way." Wilson said "oh god" and the secretary choked back a sob.

The patient approached one of the nurses and asked what was going on.

"The dean of medicine's on that flight."
