Welcome to the Artists' Portion of this year's Big Bang Challenge!

Behind the cut are the fifteen stories of Round Three for your consideration. Please post a comment with the NUMBER AND TITLE of the story you'd like to create art for. You can comment with your first and second choice in case your first choice is already claimed. A mod will reply to your comment to let you know which story you've been assigned. Once all stories have an artist assigned, we will be opening these stories up for a second artist sign-up. The second artist sign-up will be in a new post at a different time of day; we will give notice before it happens.

Remember, artists, these stories are for the most part first drafts--they aren't polished stories yet. In effect, they should work as jumping-off points, or, if you will, really long prmopts. Hopefully you'll be able to find a scene or a moment that jump-starts your creative energy!

The first round of artist picks is now complete. Stories will be sent to artists by tomorrow. The second round of artist picks will be held at a time and date to be determined, so watch the community for the announcement! An email will also be sent to artist participants to inform them in advance.

That brings us up to fifteen stories for the third round of the challenge! We've done pretty well over the years--thirteen, sixteen, and fifteen--so this is a very solid round. And writers, we have approximately thirty artists eager to see those summaries and make you some art! We guarantee one piece of art per story, of course, but it's very likely that you might get two or even three pieces. Feel free to watch as the Artists' Portion gets started tonight!

Artists

Artists, today is your day! The artists' portion kicks off at 7 PM EST for the first round. You've been sent an email to that effect, and we hope that you all have plenty of anticipation built up. There are a variety of pairings, crossovers, and genres in these stories, so we hope there'll be something to interest everyone!

If you're an artist and there's a specific time of day that would work best for you for our Second Round of artist picks, please feel free to leave us a comment: we want to make the rounds as convenient for the largest number of artists if it's at all possible.
