Title: Woodwinds
Author: [livejournal.com profile] queenzulu
Pairing: House/Wilson (Wilson/Wendy, House/Foreman)
Rating: NC-17
Length: 39 000 words
Spoilers: Through season three.
Summary: Wilson doesn't end relationships; he launches himself headfirst into something even more disastrous instead.
Excerpt )

It takes eighteen months. It happens in small steps, but by the time a year and a half has passed, Wilson has shaken the underpinnings of his life, and has to reassess both his friendship with House and his own personal beliefs. House faces the return crippling pain and the dissolution of his relationship with Foreman. Wilson must cope with another failed romance and the realization of some harsh truths. Equal parts human weakness, self-destructive impluses and opportunistic selfishness add up to make a truly volatile situation. All it needs is the right spark...

[livejournal.com profile] queenzulu is a consummate storyteller, and quickly snares the reader in a tangle of the characters' good intentions, half-truths and self-deceptions. Complex, nuanced characterization where everyone is ultimately fundamentally flawed and human is a hallmark of her distinctive style. A wealth of perfect details add to the story, from monster trucks and clinic pranks to all the little signs of the end of a relationship. And finally, there is scorching sex, as imperfect as all the players in this tragedy of intention. This story will appeal strongly to anyone who wants a subtly nuanced and true to life story.

Title: Lead You Into The Night
Author: [livejournal.com profile] cryptictac
Pairing: House/Cuddy
Rating: PG
Length: 34 800 words
Spoilers: None
Summary: What's the differential for a woman who says she hates her baby?
Excerpt )

[livejournal.com profile] cryptictac's Lead Me Into The Night is a devastatingly beautiful story about getting what you think you need, only to discover it's not exactly what you want. The story starts on a note familiar to fanfiction. House, after helping Cuddy conceive, distances himself from her and the baby as much as possible. But as it becomes apparent that Cuddy isn't coping with motherhood as well as she, or anyone else, expected, it's up tot House to step in and be what she needs. In Lead Me Into The Night, [livejournal.com profile] cryptictac delivers it all - heart-wrenching angst, spot-on banter between House and Wilson, excellent characterization across the board, and a style of prose that is both simplistic and beautiful.

Title: Deaductive Reasoning

Pairing: House/Wilson
Rating: R
Length: 25,500 words
Spoilers: AU. Departs from canon after the beginning of S5
Summary: A serial killer stalks the halls of PPTH, and patients are being murdered. House investigates. By the way, Wilson is a vampire and House is his partner and unlikely minion.
Excerpt )

Close your eyes and imagine Dr. Gregory House as Dracula's Renfield. No really. Do it. Good. Now imagine that instead of eating bugs, House solves medical mysteries involving invisibility, vampirism, and Gypsy curses--all while complaining bitterly, of course. Has Wilson gone bad, murdering his cancer patients and drinking their blood, or is it all a set up? If it is a set up, then who's pulling the strings? And what are the perils of sending a private eye after an invisible vampire, anyway? Part of [livejournal.com profile] srsly_yes's Blood Brothers 'verse, Deaductive Reasoning is a standalone adventure that blends improbability with classic genre tropes for an entertaining romp with a high body count.

Title: your rosary beads under the bed
Author: [livejournal.com profile] fated_addiction
Pairing: House/Cameron, Chase/Cameron
Rating: PG
Length: 22 935 words
Spoilers: General spoilers for season five.
Summary: The truth is she's had the letter since June. We carry our memories in too many ways.
Excerpt )

Cameron and her brother Jaimie don't really talk. They exchange notes, letters, emails and photos, but they don't talk. At least not about anything of any real importance. But when Jaimie, who joined the army years ago much to their parents' consternation, comes to visit Cameron, all the the unnamed, unspoken tensions between brother and sister start to reveal the cracks and unsaid small faults in Cameron's relationship with Chase. The strain of so many small silences takes its toll on her, and she finds herself inexplicably drawn towards House.

[livejournal.com profile] fated_addiction's rich, dense prose creates a moody and atmospheric story. A wealth of everyday detail adds up to an inevitable, oppressive air where the simple act of washing one's hands takes on great significance. This is a great read for anyone inclined towards hints of House/Cameron and introspective character studies.

Rating: NC-17
Length: 21 700 words
Spoilers: No specific timeline for any. Batman is a mix of comic!verse & Nolan!verse.
Summary: It's a crazy world out there, and unfortunately Wilson's about to get shoved right into the middle of it.
Excerpt )

Wilson is jealous of House's new boyfriend. The story starts out as simple as that, but after Wilson gets transfered to Gotham City, he meets the infamous Joker. And after that, things start to spin wildly out of control. In Stay Away From The Glass, [livejournal.com profile] sodiumbisulfite crafts a dark, surreal story about jealousy and revenge. In this story, she takes on four completely different fandoms and weaves together characters from each of them to form a coherent whole. All her characters are deeply, humanly flawed, and the Joker is especially a terrifying, unknowable menace. This is not a story for the faint of heart, but those who are willing to take the chance will be greatly rewarded.

Title: In My Darkest Dreams
Authors: [livejournal.com profile] nemesishamartia and [livejournal.com profile] benjimmy
Pairing: House/Wilson
Rating: NC-17 (dark themes)
Length: 41 400 words
Spoilers: Throughout season four. Particularly '97 Seconds and 'House's Head/ Wilson’s Heart.' Diverts from canon after the finale.
Summary: A tour through House's mind as he deals with the psychological fallout from Wilson's actions and the events occurring throughout season four.
Excerpt )

If you're a fan of unique mindfucks, then In My Darkest Dreams just might be down your alley. It's a collaborative fic, written by [livejournal.com profile] benjimmy and [livejournal.com profile] nemesishamartia. The story begins from 97 Seconds, with the authors' take on where House's mind was taken after he shocked himself with the knife in the electric socket. From that point forward, the story twists through an interesting mirror maze of House's mind and the strange direction his relationship with Wilson takes after Amber dies. The story is a very dark one; it leaves little to the imagination, with almost every dark theme you can think of touched on at some point. Without a doubt, whatever it may be that you end up taking away from this story, it's one you definitely won't forget for a long, long time.

Title: Adagio
Author: [livejournal.com profile] kimbari
Pairing: House/Cuddy, Cuddy/OC
Rating: NC-17
Length: 30 000 words
Spoilers: Through 5.06, "Joy".
Summary: Lisa Cuddy thought her dream of having a baby was finished. She thought her dream of a strong, loving partner would never come true. She was wrong on both counts, as well as in her assessment that Gregory House would have nothing to do with either of them.
Excerpt )

[livejournal.com profile] kimbari's Adagio is one-of-a-kind story with witty dialogue and rich prose. It explores Cuddy's relationship not only with House, but also with an original male character - a dancer for the New York City Ballet. Brought together by a chance encounter and a broken cell phone, Julian - the young, handsome dancer - falls head-over-heels for Cuddy. Convinced she'll have to settle for a lonely, childless life, Cuddy is difficult to win over at first - but Julian is up to the challenge, and just might be able to give Cuddy everything she desires… if House doesn't mess it up first. A writing style beloved by fanfic writers, Adagio is an incredibly unique, heartwarming story about love and loss, fate, and second chances.

Title: World of Weeping
Crossover Fandom: Torchwood
Pairing: James Wilson, Gregory House, Captain Jack Harkness, but with allusions to Wilson/Jack, Jack/Ianto
Rating: PG
Length: 25 700 words
Spoilers: Set during House Season 5 -- after "Birthmarks" but before "Last Resort." Set after Series 2 of Torchwood.
Summary: House is consulted by a secret organization led by a mysterious man who seems to know Wilson just a little bit too well for House's comfort.
Excerpt )

House knows that the two mysterious well-dressed men in Wilson's office are going to be trouble. However, the truth is far stranger than even House can guess. Ianto Jones and Jack Harkness are from Torchwood, a secret organization outside the government and beyond the police, devoted to keeping humanity safe from alien intervention. Their appearance brings up forgotten trauma from Wilson's past, and means a trip to Wales for both House and Wilson. And a strange series of deaths in Cardiff can be solved by only one person--House.

This tense mix of medical and supernatural mystery combines the best elements of both shows. [livejournal.com profile] mer_duff uses strong folklore elements and medical causes to create a case that takes both Torchwood and Princton Plainsborough's finest to solve. The dialogue is sharp, and true to both shows, the plot is fast-moving and nail-biting, and the mysterious deaths have a very real emotional effect on the characters. A moving exploration of Wilson's grief over Amber and friendship with House.

Pairing: Gen: House, team, Wilson, Cuddy.
Rating: PG
Length: 24 900 words
Spoilers: Through season 3.
Summary: When two new, unwanted patients throw his world into disarray, House questions his own medical ability. As the ketamine treatment for his thigh fails, House's friends begin to desert him.
Excerpt )

And All Our Little Agonies by [livejournal.com profile] rosenskimmer is a rather melancholy story that takes place in season three of House, with a large AU twist to it. After the ketamine treatment, House is confronted with two medical cases that shun him out of his comfort zone, both equally as baffling as each other. While struggling to piece the puzzles of the cases together, the ketamine treatment begins failing and his pain slowly but surely returns, and when the people closest to him start deserting him he finds unexpected comfort in one of his patients. Title: Go Baby Go
Authors: [livejournal.com profile] anna_bm and [livejournal.com profile] usomitai
Pairing: House/Wilson
Rating: PG-13
Length: 25 700 words
Spoilers: Takes place mid-season 3.
Summary: House finds out about the woman in Wilson's life.
Excerpt )

Perfume lingering on Wilson's clothes. Traces of lipstick on his wrist. Women's clothing hidden in his closet, and an unfamiliar female name on his cell phone call log. House knows all these symptoms add up to one diagnosis--Wilson has a new girlfriend. Or does he? Wilson's occasional foray into crossdressing first turns into a point of confrontation with House. Then it turns into a bet. And then it turns into something more...

An innovative premise, sharp snappy narrative and a flair for the romantic combine in this story of love, friendship, and the power of flirtation across a crowded room. Wilson and House both have some definite issues, and some clear motivations behind the surface-level hijinx and banter. This exploration into jealousy, unrealized emotion, and Wilson's feminine side is a good read for anyone who thinks that gender is clearly no boundary to House and Wilson's true feelings for each other.

Title: Eucatastrophe
Author: [livejournal.com profile] euclase
Pairing: Gen: House, Wilson, Thirteen, Cuddy.
Rating: PG-13
Length: 50,400 words
Spoilers: Through season four; some AU for season five.
Summary: Dr. House believes there is something unusual living in Lake Carnegie. Strange events unfold as he attempts to prove his theory.
Excerpt )

It starts out as one of House's usual pranks. Goldfish crackers all over Wilson's desk inevitably lead to House "borrowing" a groundskeeper's boat to go fishing in Lake Carnegie. But when House catches a salmon and finds a silver ring inside the fish, things start to get truly strange. He can't get the ring off his finger, and Wilson is acting most unlike his usual self. A string of events straight out of folktale and myth ultimately take the two to a mysterious world of legend, where they encounter any number of individuals that seem oddly familiar....

This story focuses strongly on the friendship and ties between House and Wilson. The dialogue has all the banter and wit characteristic of the show, and the plot makes good use of the supporting cast. The light-hearted pranks in the opening scenes quickly shift into a compelling mix of fantasy and adventure as House and Wilson are drawn into a deeply symbolic quest where their own lives may very well hang in the balance.

Title: Air Conditioner
Author: [livejournal.com profile] alanwolfmoon
Pairing: House/Foreman
Rating: PG-13
Length: 39,477 words
Spoilers: Begins about a month after the end of s4, and takes a different path, ignoring s5.
Summary: After Head&Heart, House is physically damaged. A previously existing coworker-with-benefits relationship with Foreman is the only connection he has to rely on afterwards.
Excerpt )

How does a relationship progress from 'coworkers with benefits' to something approaching real love? House and Foreman have been together for a few months, but for two men who are scared out of their wits by commitment, it takes more than that to admit that what they feel might be something more. [livejournal.com profile] alanwolfmoon takes the time to outline all the obstacles that stand between House and Foreman and actually saying the words. House's injuries after the bus crash are more substantial, and he needs reassurance that Foreman doesn't pity him. Foreman is no more certain that he can work up the courage to tell House that he's ready to take the next step. [livejournal.com profile] alanwolfmoon's Air Conditioner is all the more wonderful for its rarity. It's a long, character-driven, romantic story--with the romance, of course, taking a necessary backseat to arguments, fights, and frustration. Light and quick-paced, Air Conditioner shows House and Foreman at their stubborn and infuriating best.

Title: One and Two
Author: [livejournal.com profile] usomitai
Pairing: Amber/House/Wilson
Rating: NC-17
Length: 31 700 words
Spoilers: Diverges from canon starting from episode 4.14 Living the Dream.
Summary: Amber decides to make Wilson happy by adding House to their relationship, and realizes that by doing so, she may have subtracted herself.
Excerpt )

When Amber realizes that, despite the fact that Wilson and Amber are in love, Wilson always manages to put House's welfare before Amber's when push comes to shove, she decides to make Wilson happy the only way she knows how. One and Two tells the story of Amber's journey once she makes Wilson realize that he loves House, too--and the fallout that inevitably occurs. [livejournal.com profile] usomitai has a fine grasp on Amber's characterization, making her sympathetic without softening any of her more abrasive traits, giving her a complexity that rings true throughout the story. In the first person, Amber's voice shines through, and she becomes a sympathetic character whose action has consequences she wasn't prepared to deal with. The delicacy of the love triangle, Wilson's reluctance and later enthusiasm, and House's unexpected response, all make One and Two an intriguing and believable story.

Excerpt )

For the Big Bang Challenge, [livejournal.com profile] hwshipper specializes in crossovers that bring House and Wilson together with sleuths and detectives, and Bounty Hunter Bedlam is another successful venture into the genre. Fast-paced and with a great voice, Bounty Hunter Bedlam easily places the reader in the point of view of Stephanie Plum, a bail bondsman tracking down Wilson's brother. But one mystery leads to another, and soon Plum and her gang of associates--each one clearly drawn--are pulled in to help Wilson's brother, and, in the end, to help Wilson reveal one more important truth to his family.
